sound controlled led letters - vu-meter bausatz

the first version of my soundcontrolled led letters was inspired by this instruction that i built twice, and equiped it with some more leds (around 20):











i liked the effect but i wanted something more sophisticated. so i found this led vu meter kit which unfortunately did not work at all with more leds than designated.

with led vu meter kit 2 it finally worked. so this is the upgraded version (with 10 more white leds):
